Gurgaon — a city that carved its niche out of luxurious corporate infrastructure, triggering a cascade of investments from large businesses and MNCs, while encouraging professionals from across the country to work, grow, and build a life here. What started as a corporate hub soon became a lively city filled with opportunities at every turn. But everything has a saturation point– and so did the very thing that made Gurgaon magnetic.
Premium offices were popping up in every sector of the city. And all of them offered the same script - Grade A office space, world-class amenities, seamless connectivity, and locational advantages - essentially the next big thing in the city. So, when the Landmark Group of Companies approached The Design Trip, a Zucol Services' dedicated branding and marketing vertical for Landmark One, they weren't looking for just another logo. They needed a brand that could launch one of Gurugram's most ambitious commercial developments. And that meant building far more than an identity.
Understanding the Landscape
What followed was extensive research into Gurgaon’s commercial real-estate landscape. From studying the demand for Grade-A offices, strategic advantages of Golf Course Extension Road as a location, to identifying specific operational challenges like lower number of high-speed lifts, floor plate requirements, and parking issues - a clear idea of the existing scenario was formed.
The research, however, revealed something far more interesting than operational insights or locational advantages. As we looked deeper into Gurugram's commercial evolution, a pattern began to emerge.
Every defining business district in the city had once been an unfamiliar address. Before it became the place to be, it was simply a place a few businesses chose to believe in. Cyber City wasn't always synonymous with corporate Gurugram. Golf Course Road wasn't always the benchmark for premium commercial real estate. They became what they are today because businesses recognised their potential long before the rest of the market did.
That observation fundamentally changed our thinking. We realised Landmark One didn't need another narrative around premium offices or world-class amenities. Those were expected. The opportunity lay in telling a much larger story—one about how commercial destinations are created, and how every landmark begins with people willing to move before everyone else.
Building the Narrative
Rather than centring the campaign around specifications, we chose to build it around an idea - thresholds. Not as a visual motif or a tagline, but as a metaphor for every defining moment that changes the way people, businesses, and even cities move forward.
The messaging explored a simple but powerful thought: every landmark, every business district, and every opportunity that eventually becomes obvious first exists as a threshold. A point where a few choose to move while everyone else waits.
From Strategy to Visual Language
While the messaging established the strategic direction, the visual identity became one of the first tangible expressions of the brand. As Landmark One began preparing for its digital presence across its website, social media, and other launch collateral, it needed an identity that could communicate the same thinking at first glance.
The design process began by defining the character the identity needed to communicate. Rather than focusing solely on the building's physical attributes, the objective was to create a mark that reflected the mindset of its intended audience - business leaders, investors, CXOs, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers looking for more than just another commercial address. And it was this thinking that informed the development of a logo that brought together multiple layers of meaning within a single visual identity.
The horizontal lines were introduced to represent movement and direction. Instead of serving as a literal reference to the building's floors or facade, they symbolise momentum and progress, reflecting the aspiration for Landmark One to become a defining commercial destination within Gurugram's evolving business landscape.
To balance this sense of structure, the identity also draws inspiration from one of the project's architectural highlights - the Canela Deck. Its distinctive flowing form was interpreted through the curved element of the logo, allowing a recognisable architectural feature to become part of the brand itself. This connection ensures that the visual identity remains rooted in the development rather than existing as an abstract graphic.
The overall composition subtly forms the numeral "1", reinforcing the project's name while emphasising its ambition to establish itself as a singular commercial destination along the Golf Course Extension Road corridor.
Together, these elements transform the logo into a concise representation of the broader brand story, reinforcing the qualities Landmark One aspired to represent - movement, leadership, architectural character, and a vision for the future in a single mark.
Beyond The Brief
As the venture progresses from concept to reality, this identity established by The Design Trip will continue to guide how the development is presented across digital platforms, marketing collateral, and future campaigns. This comes along with the commitment to building a brand that goes beyond aesthetics. Every message, every visual, and every creative decision continues to be guided by the same strategic foundation established in the project’s early stages.
While the campaign unfolds with time, one thing has remained constant throughout the process - Zucol's commitment to creating solutions that extend beyond individual deliverables to generate long-term business value. And this effectively translates onto Landmark One, with the objective to create communication that simply stands out, but communication that stands for something.
For Zucol Services, Landmark One represents another opportunity to approach branding as a long-term business asset rather than a collection of creative deliverables - an example of how thoughtful strategy can transform a brief into an identity with meaning, direction, and lasting value.
